ZICA Organizes Colors of India Event across major cities in India

Color your city - is a national initiative by ZICA to identify creative talent across the country. The initiative will culminate in a design competition at the national level to attempt the creation of a world record of the largest hand painted logo. All the participants also get a chance to win scholarships from ZICA to pursue their education in the creative art streams.

Over 1000 students from city colleges have already participated in the ‘Color your City’ initiative held at various colleges in Jaipur, Baroda, Noida & Bangalore. More than 12 cities will witness the event.

Ten students were selected for the finals, based on their creative display about their city. These students will go on to participate in the finals to be held at Mumbai in April 2013. The chosen works from across these cities will create a representation of their respective states on a canvas - on the theme of ‘Colors of India’. All the finalists will then form a team to create the world’s largest hand painted logo.

Elaborating on the ‘color your city’ initiative, Mr. Prabhanjan Chappar, Business Head of Zee Institute of Creative Art (ZICA) said, “Color your City is an initiative to catalyze a new future by awakening, kindling; supporting, channelizing creativity across the country. Through this initiative, we are celebrating creativity with champions from across the country. While traditional career related education gets recognition amongst the masses, creative learning is still not considered a mainstream career education. Technology is fast changing the scope for creative careers and with this initiative we aim to change some perceptions about creative education.”
